If you are missing one or more teeth, a dental implant can help you enjoy the most durable, natural looking and feeling replacement possible. Dental implants are titanium posts that are surgically placed in the jawbone, where they permanently fuse with the surrounding tissue. Each implant acts as an anchor for a custom-fabricated replacement tooth. With dental implants at our Walnut Creek practice serving Millersburg and all of Holmes County, you can fully restore form and function to your smile. Dr. David Sisson performs all aspects of the dental implant procedure, from the surgical placement of the implant to the fabrication of the replacement teeth. As always, you can count on us to be your one-stop resource for all your smile restoration needs.
If you would like to learn more about implant dentistry, we can help. Our staff provides those from Walnut Creek, Millersburg, and all of Holmes County with dental implants in a comfortable, welcoming environment. If you would like to learn more about this groundbreaking advancement for the replacement of missing teeth, contact Walnut Creek Dental today.
If, after consulting with Dr. Sisson, you decide that dental implants are right for you, the procedure will begin with a careful analysis of the structures of your jaw. Great care is taken during the planning process as this helps Dr. Sisson prepare for the safe and effective placement of the implant. Because the implant is placed in the jaw to a depth roughly similar to a natural tooth root, where it fuses to the bone through a process known as osseointegration, dental implants offer a virtually permanent tooth replacement.
Osseointegration, which requires between three and six months, was first discovered by the Swedish orthopedic surgeon and professor Per-Ingvar Brånemark. He discovered that, when a titanium implant is placed in bone, cells that are responsible for bone formation grow on and into the titanium's rough surface area. This discovery led to the development of the modern dental implant.
After the surgical implant dentistry procedure at our Walnut Creek practice serving Millersburg and Holmes County, dental implants must be allowed to fuse to the bone before replacement teeth are placed. While this fusion takes place, Dr. Sisson will provide you with natural-looking temporary replacement teeth to ease the transition to a more permanent restoration. During this time, Dr. Sisson will fabricate permanent replacement teeth to your exact specifications. The color, size, and shape of these replacement teeth are all designed to seamlessly integrate into your smile. After your final implant dentistry appointment with us, the replacement teeth will be firmly secured to the implant posts, and you can leave our office with a brand new smile.
The benefits of implant dentistry are many:

I was a patient who had serious BAD TEETH! I needed 18 crowns and it was not an option for me, so I decided to go with dentures. I had immediate dentures done one month before my wedding! (EEKS!) which I liked “Get er done!” They gave my face a whole other smile! Now I have Bright White Straight Teeth-No more cavities. I love my smile!
